SMX West – Part 1: The Experience

SMX West Expo Hall

SMX West Expo Hall

Its about time I do a write-up on my attendance at SMX West.  I have been completely submersed in search marketing and related learnings ever since the week of the expo, but I think its time I come up for air before the memory slips away.

It was a cold and rainy day.. no just kidding.  I mean it really was, but I’ll try to stay on point here.  Which basically means whatever I feel is worth talking about from the day :-)  But I will break this write-up into two parts for your convenience: Part 1 will discuss the more peripheral learnings I took from the experience as a whole, and Part 2 will discuss some of the specific learnings I took away – though just a handful of those that I felt were most profound and applicable, as a lot was covered and I don’t want to just create a summary of each course I attended. Off to SMX West!

2 Mar

Ok enough with the silly theories and on to something much more interesting!

I’m headed to SMX West tomorrow, taking the Social track. I’m sure I’ll have plenty of blog-ready material by the end of the day.

Ping me if you’re there too – post a comment, tweet me, or catch me on SMX Connect so we can hook up. So stoked!

Farmville Has Unemployment to Thank

17 Feb

I have a theory.

“Uh oh!”  Thats what my husband says whenever I tell him I have a theory.  Hes not one to care for theories – which is why I post blogs instead. ;)

But seriously – I have noticed a distinct correlation between the rise in Facebook  app usage and the continuing unemployment rate.  Specifically Farmville.

I am stunned by the amount of time and energy that many of my Facebook friends spend pouring into their faux farms, looking for harnesses and horseshoes or whatever it is they need to complete their stable.  Aquariums also seem to be a rising trend, but Farmville currently takes the cake.
